From Kindergarten to a Master’s Degree, Forest Grove and the surrounding area is home to a wide variety of public and private educational institutions.
Education is one of the historic cornerstones in Forest Grove, which is home to the oldest chartered university in the West. Pacific University has been recognized as one of American’s best colleges by US News and World Report and named a “Best Western College” by The Princeton Review.
Forest Grove is also served by Portland Community College. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2011, PCC is the largest institution of higher learning in the state and is a crossroads for people with many destinations, offering three campuses in Portland, as well as training and education centers in Portland, Beaverton and Hillsboro. In addition, they are currently partnering with Pacific University and the Forest Grove School District to provide educational opportunities at both the high school and college level.
Forest Grove School District encompasses approximately 225 square miles and educates about 6,000 children in the communities of Forest Grove, Cornelius, Dilley and Gales Creek. More information on the school district is available on our school district page.
In addition to the public education system, there are many easily accessible educational based preschools, K-8 institutions and high schools as well as a number of colleges and universities. Swallowtail Waldorf School and Farm and Visitation School are two examples of the outstanding K-8 schools in the Forest Grove area.
Feel free to contact the Chamber for a comprehensive list of educational facilities and opportunities in the area.
